Evaluation is one of the most challenging — and meaningful — aspects of being a Processwork
trainer. It is a training skill that calls on us as trainers to engage the deepest parts of ourselves
and our students. It challenges us to find corners of our being that can use evaluation to
perceive and nurture growth in our students, ourselves and our teamwork.
In this workshop, we will explore how feedback, assessment, and Second Training
(ProcessMind) come together in the service of student growth, community standards, and the
deeper values that guide our work.
As trainers, we are called to hold many roles at once — teacher, supervisor, mentor, examiner,
therapist, and community member. We support each student’s unique path while holding the
shared standards of Processwork practice. This creates a complex teaching environment where
we are always asking:
● How do we evaluate in a way that supports learning, follows nature, and reflects the
values of Processwork?
● How do we know when a student is ready for their next step?
● How do we give feedback that is honest, useful, and developmental — while staying in
the relationship?
● How to effectively use all kinds of metaskills?
WORKSHOP FOCUS
● The role of feedback as a core Processwork value
● Researching evaluation – what is it – how we use it consciously and unconsciously
● Evaluation as an enhancement to teamwork
● Balancing individual learning paths with training standards
● The subtle and overt forms of assessment — moment-to-moment & formal
● How our evaluation styles shape different trainer roles (teacher, supervisor, mentor,
examiner, therapist)
● Exploring rank, power, and self-reflection in our evaluation style
● Process Mind and how it informs evaluation
● Working with Process Mind to engage emerging processes and transforming realities
WHY THIS DOJO?
Processwork training is intensely relational and individualized both for the trainer and those
being trained. As trainers, we:
● Carry many roles at once
● Support each student’s path in our unique way while upholding shared standards
● Transmit not just skills, but a paradigm and worldview
Evaluation is not only about passing or failing — it is an expression of our values, awareness,
and care.
This dojo offers space for us to research and practice, reflect, and refine how we evaluate —
both formally and in the subtle feedback that shapes learning.
