Andy’s work centres on transformational change in communities, organisations and participative democracy, inclusion and diversity.

Main Work

With his partner (Pat Black) he founded Diversity Matters in 2001; this organisation works for a more inclusive society particularly in community transformation, social care and health systems: Valuing the missing contributions and talents of marginalised groups and identities, and finding new ways to engage, educate and learn together.

This has resulted in three international awards for educational design at both university and grassroots levels, with awards for inclusivity, changing workplace practice, lifelong learning and global innovation in education.

His vision and practice initiated and co-creates partnerships with the broad aim of a more inclusive and creative world, working with government and NGO groups , CSO’s and grassroots communities. This builds on 25 years experience in organisational consultancy and helping set up a number of successful voluntary organisations in Scotland Current work includes partnerships with the Scottish Government, Scottish Social Service Council, Minority Ethnic Carers organisations, local administrations and a range of international partners.

Teaching

Andy’s Processwork teaching focuses on worldwork, deep democracy and other systemic approaches but also on exploring and welcome non-ordinary, altered and extreme states of consciousness, hamanic approaches and frameworks, work with the body and illness. All of this with a strong emphasis on innerwork and intraception.

Academic

Andy is a UKCP registered psychotherapist, supervisor and training supervisor, and faculty member in the UK training program. In addition to designing a post graduate university course in leadership, Andy was also a co-designer and senior teacher of a successful higher education training program with Queen Margaret University Edinburgh.

Other

Andy is a fervent lover of long distance cycling, camping and wild places, mystical states, song-writing, singing in the shower and getting lost in the moment whilst watching a game of rugby.
